What is a visual identity? A visual identity is a complete system of rules that makes a brand look the same everywhere, from a business card to the website and Instagram. It consists of the logo and its variants, a colour palette, typography, supporting graphic elements, a brand manual with usage rules and ready-made templates for print and social media. The logo is only one part: it says who you are, while the identity defines how the brand comes across at every touchpoint. At Najmon Media in Říčany near Prague, a complete visual identity starts at 14,999 CZK and a logo with a basic identity at 4,999 CZK.
What a visual identity consists of
- Logo and its variants, the main logo, a simplified mark (for example just a symbol or initials) and versions for light and dark backgrounds.
- Colour palette, primary and secondary colours with exact codes for print (CMYK) and screen (RGB, HEX).
- Typography, typefaces for headings and body text and rules for combining them.
- Graphic elements, patterns, icons, shapes or a photo style that set the brand apart even without the logo.
- Brand manual, a document with the rules: logo clear space, minimum size, what not to do, usage examples.
- Templates, business cards, letterheads, social media posts and stories, presentations.
You can see what such a system looks like in practice in the case study of my own brand Najmon Media, including the downloadable brand manual.

When is a complete visual identity worth it?
I recommend a complete identity when a brand communicates in several places at once: a website, social media, printed materials and perhaps premises or packaging. Without rules, every piece looks slightly different and the brand feels inconsistent. An identity also pays off in a rebrand or a merger of two companies, such as the GALATECH fusion rebrand, where two brands had to become one.
If you are just starting out and mainly need to get going quickly, a logo with a basic identity (colours and typeface) is enough. You can extend it with a manual and templates at any time.
